Caption Contest #23 Winner - Charmin Microburst!

 I was surprised to see quite a few voters stop by on New Year's Eve to help in picking the best caption... and it was the closest competition yet!  But in the end, Charmin wins!(hehe) - Congrats to 'George' - tho now I have to figure out who George is.  I can see I need to get the blog set up to make email addresses mandatory like the old system had (keep in mind that I'm just making this stuff up as I go along!).

 I was glad to see that there were some really good caption ideas submitted for this crazy pic of DC-2 mechanics wearing prop hub spinners on their heads.  But in the end, you can have only one winner, so Christmas Day congrats go out to twitter follower @shannonlucas!  You're on the board with $20 in AirPigz funny money.  If things go well, we'll have fun av stuff to trade those bucks for before spring gets here.

 You can't argue that twitter follower @MontanaOne has proven to be pretty sharp with captions for crazy aircraft pix... and she's done it again!  Another great caption snags another $20 AirPigz funny money : )

 It's really amazing to see the things that people have done over the years with aircraft design.  Some are truly inspired while others have to leave you scratching your head.  The one thing you can be sure of tho is that there will never be a shortage of people with bizzare ideas!

Caption Contest #19 Has A Winner!

 Hey hey, another twitter follower, @Falcon 124, has put on a great show, snagging the most votes for the very creative dolphin caption above.  Great job... I'm likes it!

 BTW, this is a nifty International win as he's from Melbourne, Australia.  Hmm, now that I notice, the pic above kinda looks like Australia (well, I guess they do have some houses and some other buildings over there too).  Just kidding!  I've never been there, but I've looked into it a bit and I could even consider living there.

 Anyway, sorry for the delay getting the winner posted.  The mainframe computer at the AirPigz World Headquarters decided to tumble it's gyros this morning and spent about 7 fascinating hours in a locked up loop of 'ain't nothing happenin'.

 But hey, that's ancient history now and things are back to normal (ha, right!).  Thanx again to everyone for playing the game.  I think it's as much fun for me as it is for you guys.  And we'll do it all over again starting this next Monday (Memorial Day).

 Twitter follower @SirHogarth, who just also happens to be the focus of a nifty little RV-6 video we put together a few weeks back, has just won Caption Contest #18.

 I was pretty sure when I saw this one come thru that it would win... Great job!

Caption Contest #17 Winner Finally Posted!

 Running a blog-based game on a rigid schedule seems like it should be pretty easy.  Yeah, well whatever.  It seems like there's always some pesky glitch or gremlin chasing me down and making it a lot harder than it ought to be.

 But like they say in Seattle these days... better late than never!  So, I can finally confirm that Caption Contest #17 was won by avid twitter follower @MontanaOne (once again).

 We'll add another $20 AirPigz funny money to her previous winnings and then set our sights on game #18 coming up on Monday Morning May 11th (if the gremilns will allow).

 I thought this inflatable airplane woulda been a little easier to come up with funny captions, but it seemed to be a bit of a challenge.  So, I'll try extra hard to find one for next week that just flat out rocks : ) 

Better Late Than Never - Caption Contest #16 Winner Finally Revealed!

 Twitter follower @SirHogarth has burst onto the AirPigz scene in a big way recently.  First he brings his beautiful RV-6 over to my area and we go for a ride and make a little video about it, and then just a few days later he wins Caption Contest #16!

 And I'm glad this caption won too since it's a pretty creative mix of this pretty unique pic with some interesting aviation terminology.  Great job!

 I'm several days late getting this winning post put up cuz I was heavily distracted by my sleep depriving trip to Sun-n-Fun.  I covered over 2,700 miles in just 5 days and had a fantastic time soaking up aviation in Florida.

 Due to fatigue and lack of time, we'll skip the Caption Contest this week, but you can expect another fun chance to earn $20 AirPigz funny money coming up Monday, May 4. 2009.

 Congrats go out for a second week in a row to AirPigz twitter follower @MontanaOne for winning another Caption Contest!  I tried for 15 minutes to find a video of the old Alka Seltzer commercial that made that line popular back in the 70's but I couldn't find it. 

 I found a new ad from 2006, but it's nowhere near as good as the old original.  Well anyway, another Caption Contest has run its course and we can start thinking about the next one.  But first, I'm feeling kinda stuffed... might be the right time for a little plop, plop, fizz, fizz : )
